Another good way to tell if you have a slab leak is if you notice hot areas, where there are patches of warm floor in your home as slab leaks usually occur with with heated water pipes.
A slab leak is a puncture, rupture or failure of piping. It is a water pipe leaking from under a slab of concrete usually from underneath the house. This can be a serious problem for a few reasons.
1. It can erode the surrounding dirt away out from under the concrete slab which will in turn cause the concrete above to become very weak, with no dirt underneath to support it.
2. A slab leak can cause serious damage to the infrastructure of your building if not treated timely. The water can begin to loosen the support structure of your house and can cause other cosmetic damages.
3. Slab leaks can eventually end up costing a great deal of money if they are not handled in the early stages. This arises from the two previous points.
If your water heater is constantly running, that is another good sign that you have a slab leak. Any water coming out from under the walls, cabinets or tiles is a sign you have a slab weak.
